JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Before he worked his way up the coaching ladder, Brooks Savage was a member of the Irmo basketball program two decades ago where he played under the legendary coach Tim Whipple. On Monday, Brooks was named the new men's head basketball coach at East Tennessee State. In his opening statement, he made sure to give credit to the coaches who helped him along the way and Whipple was on the list. "I've been blessed beyond measure in my life to have some incredible coaches who believed in me and gave me an opportunity to live my dream," Savage said.
